Paige Douthett is a year-round field hockey athlete who has 60 career varsity starts as a junior, starting every game for Fauquier High School since her Freshman year.  Paige has been an All District and All Region selection in both her sophomore and junior years and was voted the unusual distinction of being named team captain as a junior.  When not playing for Fauquier, Paige  plays for the U-19 Club Team "High Voltage" that had both a successful tournament at the 2009 National Field Hockey Festival finishing 2nd in their flight and was also highly competitive during the winter indoor season.

Paige plays for Fauquier High School, a perennial post season regional and state play-off contender that has won the State AA Championship twice. Fauquier’s program has developed a number of athletes that have gone on to play successfully at the Division 1 Collegiate Level.  Most recently:  Lindsay O'Bannon (UVa), Emma Rapp (UCal), Rachel Sauer (UConn) and Ellie Barrett (Bucknell).  Paige's skills and abilities are within the caliber of these Fauquier field hockey athletes.

Paige is a dominating player at the defensive midfield position and takes all of her team's offensive hits.  She plays key roles in both offensive and defensive penalty corners.  Paige typically gets more touches on the ball in game situations than any other player by a significant margin.  Fauquier set a new records for scoring this season largely due to Paige's dominance in the midfield combined with her ability to find open front line players in scoring position with her precision passing.

Paige's assets include error free hitting with both pace and accuracy, precision passing and advanced stick handling abilities that enable her to change direction to evade defenders.  Paige has the ability and skills to  create space between herself and defenders when closely covered to avoid tacklers and keep the ball advancing forward.  Paige is both physically fit and injury free.  Paige's poise under pressure, leadership abilities and ability to avoid unforced errors are also a large part of what makes her a successful athlete and an outstanding collegiate recruiting prospect.
